Intro

This polished concrete floor was installed in Clifton as part of a high-end new build residential project. The client was looking for a modern, durable finish that would run throughout the ground floor and extend seamlessly into the external patio area.

Project

The installation covered the full ground floor of the property, totalling approximately 160m² internally, along with a 50m² external patio.

The internal space included kitchen, dining and living areas, all designed as a large open-plan layout. The aim was to create a continuous, contemporary surface that would work with the architectural design and maximise the sense of space.

Process

Due to the size and layout of the property, the internal floor was split into two sections and poured over two separate days during the summer.

This approach allowed us to maintain full control over the finish while working within the practical constraints of the build. Careful planning ensured consistency across both pours so the floor reads as one cohesive surface.

As with all of our installations, the floor was protected after pouring to allow other trades to continue. We then returned once the build was nearing completion to carry out the sanding and sealing process.

The external patio was installed to complement the internal floor, creating a strong visual connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Result

The finished floor delivers a clean, seamless look throughout the ground floor, enhancing the open-plan design and bringing a modern feel to the property.

Extending the polished concrete out onto the patio creates a natural flow between inside and out, particularly in the warmer months when the space can be fully opened up.

Combined with underfloor heating internally, the result is a practical, hard-wearing surface that is well suited to everyday living.
