Intro

This project features a polished concrete floor in Newport, Pembrokeshire as part of a beautiful stone cottage restoration. The client wanted a clean, modern finish that would sit comfortably alongside the character of the original stone building.

Project

The floor was installed across the entire ground floor, including the front living room, kitchen/dining area, and a small bathroom with a seamless sloped shower area.

We worked closely with the client to deliver a floor that would suit both the style of the property and the practical needs of everyday living.

Process

Logistically, this project was more challenging than most due to limited access. There was no on-street parking available for the concrete wagon or pump, so access was arranged through a nearby doctor’s car park approximately 80 metres from the property.

To avoid disruption, the pour was carefully scheduled for a Saturday morning when the surgery was closed. Despite the access constraints, the installation ran smoothly and to plan.

A fall was formed within the bathroom to create a seamless wet room finish.

Result

The finished floor provides a clean, seamless surface that works beautifully with the character of the cottage. It brings a modern feel to the space while complementing the traditional stone surroundings.

As with all polished concrete floors, it offers a durable, low-maintenance solution that is ideal for everyday use.
