Intro

This polished concrete floor was installed in Bishopston, Swansea for a large residential extension. The client was looking for a clean, modern finish that would work well with underfloor heating and open-plan living.

Project

The floor was installed across the entire extension, including the kitchen, dining and living areas.

We worked closely with the client to select the right tone, settling on a middle grey finish that complemented both the contemporary design and the existing oak flooring.

Process

With a straightforward layout and good access through large rear doors, we were able to pour the full floor in a single day, ensuring a consistent finish throughout.

Despite no off-road parking, the quiet street allowed for smooth delivery and pumping. As with all of our projects, the floor was then covered to allow the client to continue with the rest of their build, before we returned just prior to handover to carry out the grinding, sanding and sealing process.

Result

The finished floor provides a clean, seamless surface that works perfectly with the open-plan layout and modern kitchen design.

Coupled with the underfloor heating, it creates a practical, durable floor suited to everyday living. We especially liked how the polished concrete meets the oak flooring, blending modern and traditional elements within the space.
