We install Solidro floors and wall finishes from our base in Swansea, working across South Wales and throughout the UK on residential and commercial projects.

Solidro by Ideal Work is a decorative acrylic microfinish that creates a continuous surface with a choice of colours and textures. From kitchens and open-plan living spaces to bathrooms, shops and restaurants, it combines a contemporary appearance with practical everyday performance.

Applied at approximately 1–2 mm thick, Solidro is suitable for new builds and renovations, including application over suitable existing floors.

Solidro Floor in West Wales

For this West Wales project, we installed Solidro in a custom colour with the Concrete effect, creating a continuous floor with a textured appearance and natural tonal variation.

The video shows the upstairs floor just after sealing. It gives you a closer look at the hand-applied finish, its movement and the way its appearance changes with the light.

The Concrete effect is an option for anyone drawn to the character of concrete but needing a thin overlay. At approximately 1–2 mm thick, Solidro can achieve this look over a suitably prepared base with minimal increase in floor height.

We planned the work in stages, completing the upstairs floor first before returning for the downstairs installation.

Solidro Colours & Finishes

Solidro offers a wide choice of colours, from soft neutrals and warm earthy shades to bold, deeper tones. Bespoke RAL and NCS colour options are also available.

Choose from smooth finishes with gentle tonal variation, subtle trowelled textures or a more worked, concrete-inspired appearance.

How Much Does Solidro Cost?

Solidro floors typically cost between £120 and £200 per m², depending on the floor size, preparation required and location. Larger areas generally have a lower price per square metre, while very small floors can exceed £200 per m².

Solidro’s faster application process can reduce installation costs, making it a more affordable option than some of our other microcement finishes.

Send us your plans or measurements, photographs of the existing surface and your postcode for a quotation.

Why Choose Solidro?

• Faster installation — a shorter application process means less disruption and can reduce costs compared with some of      our other microcement finishes.
• Minimal thickness — approximately 1–2 mm for the decorative finish.
• Waterproof surface — suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and correctly prepared wet areas.
• Durable — high resistance to wear, impact and everyday stains.
• Easy to clean — a continuous finish without grout lines.
• Suitable for floors and walls — create a consistent look throughout your interior.
• Compatible with underfloor heating.
• Choice of colours and textures — from understated neutrals to bold statement finishes.

We plan each installation around your project, from preparing the existing surface to applying the final protective sealer.

Surface preparation
We prepare the base and embed a reinforcing mesh into the floor to help control cracking.

Building the base
We apply one or two coats of Solidro Zero, depending on the specification, sanding and cleaning between stages.

Creating the finish
Solidro Top creates the chosen decorative finish. This is applied by hand, then sanded and cleaned ready for sealing.

Protecting the surface
Finally, we apply a protective sealer to complete the floor and make it ready for everyday use.
