Frequently asked questions
You can search the internet high and low and still struggle to find a definitive answer. The main reason is that costs vary based on several factors.
Size of the floor – Larger floors tend to have a lower price per square metre since many costs remain the same regardless of size.
Location – While a smaller factor, lower travel costs can slightly impact the overall price.
Complexity – If your space consists of multiple smaller rooms, we may need to split the pour over several days, increasing the price per square metre.
Our floors typically range from £100 - £200 per square metre, depending on these factors. It’s easy for us to provide a quote—simply get in touch with your plans and postcode, and we’ll get back to you quickly.
Absolutely! We recommend installing an underfloor heating system.
Since our floors are typically 100mm thick, the heating pipes sit around 80mm from the surface. Once activated, the floor takes 20-30 minutes to warm up.
Polished concrete has a large thermal mass, meaning it acts like a giant radiator, keeping your space warm for longer. In the summer, it also helps keep rooms cool and feels great underfoot.
Preparation – We install perimeter foam for expansion, protect your doors, and lay crack control mesh.
Pouring the floor – We arrive at 7 AM, followed by the concrete pump. The floor is screeded and power trowelled throughout the day to achieve the desired finish.
Cutting control joints – The next day, we cut expansion joints, then cover the floor so your build can continue.
Final finishing – After a minimum of 28 days, we return to remove the cover, sand, wash, and seal the floor—once all trades have completed their work.
This ensures you receive a stunning, durable polished concrete floor to enjoy for years to come.
Unless your floor is smaller than 6m in either direction, you will need crack control joints to allow for natural expansion and contraction.
The joints are only 3mm thick and filled with a RAL-coloured silicone.
We can position joints creatively, such as under stud walls, kitchen islands, or as part of the design to zone different areas.
In short, no.
Stain resistance – Modern sealers provide excellent protection. Spills like red wine, fats, lemon juice, and vinegar won’t cause staining as long as they’re cleaned up in good time.
Scratch resistance – The surface is highly durable for everyday use, but if it ever gets scratched or damaged, we can repair and reseal it.
